In the APS system, the energy to the trolley is provided by segmented and ground level power supply rails. The active segments are activated only when the tramway vehicle completely occupies the safety of pedestrians and other road users. Electric energy is taken under the tramway by means of current collector shoes placed in the middle bogie. The APS assists in maintaining the environmental beauty of the city while at the same time guaranteeing the same performance as the catenary system. Alstom has long 60 years operating in Turkey, Istanbul metro and trams have provided tools.
