The opening of the "Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) Railway Line", which will revive the historical Silk Road, was held with a ceremony attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Kazakhstan Prime Minister Bakıtcan Sagintayev, Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov and Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikaşvili. Officials from Turkmenistan and Tajikistan were also present at the opening ceremony held at Alat Port, approximately 90 kilometers from Antalya.
DIRECT SEFER CAN BE ORGANIZED
Reminding that the “Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway Line” directly concerns Konya, the AK Party Konya deputy. Dr. Mehmet Babaoğlu said, “We also have the Mersin connection on Karaman, Ereğli-Ulukışla, Kars-Bitlis-Baku line and from there to Erzurum, Sivas and Kayseri. Nevşehir / Cappadocia is connected to Kayseri from Nevşehir. Kayseri, Sivas, Erzurum, Kars, Bitlis, Baku… So these lines will be high-speed train lines. Freight and passenger trains will be able to go on the same line. As you can see, “Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway Line” directly concerns Konya and also Konya / Mersin road will be finished soon. In this sense, direct flights can be arranged to Konya.
There are also train services from Konya to Baku. The works for the connection to Antalya, Konya, Aksaray, Nevşehir, Kayseri are about to be completed. It will also line the passenger in the same way. Therefore, we will bring this line to Antalya port. There will be direct flights from Baku to Baku. Let's take Konya-Aksaray-Nigde-Karaman into a square. First of all, this line is provided by the Konya-Mersin line through Kayseri-Niğde and the integrity of the line is ensured. We will have reached our high-speed train line as a passenger line. This will make the region very important for the easy access of our passengers. As the Ministry of Transport and the deputies of Konya, we are all working on the completion of these lines as soon as possible.

YHT-speed train lines are doing instead of looking outside artery in Turkey. That means; We can pass both freight and passenger train through the railroad while being done. But on the high-speed train you only have the chance to carry passengers. There are passengers between Konya and Mersin and likewise in Kars-Baku-Bitlis. The lines will be a great opportunity for the development of Anatolia until Sivas, Erzurum and then to Kayseri, from there to Ankara, to Istanbul, from there to Konya and to Mersin.
