Caliskan stated that the airport to be built in Sudurağı will contribute to Karaman in social, cultural and economic terms. “The number of our expatriate nationals living abroad is quite high. Thanks to the airport to be built, our citizens will have the opportunity to come directly to Karaman from the country where they are located. In addition, nearby provinces and districts such as Niğde, Aksaray, Ereğli, Mut and Mersin will benefit from this airport. Karaman Airport is approximately 20 kilometers away from Karaman city center by road distance from the Project area, approximately 60 kilometers away from Eregli district of Konya. One runway, one apron and one taxi is planned in the project. In addition, construction of all superstructure facilities required for the domestic and international terminal and airport will be realized. Within the scope of the Karaman airport project, including superstructure facilities, 130 will have an area of one thousand hectares.
