With the protocol signed between the Spanish Railways Administration (ADIF) and the Ministry of Public Works, it was decided to start the construction of the high-speed train between Murcia-Almeria in 2019 and open it in 2023. With the completion of the high-speed train line, it is aimed to strengthen the transportation connections of the cities with Madrid and Barcelona.
