Statement on Railway Network Notification from Minister Arslan: Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Minister Arslan announced that the “railway network notification”, an important step in the railway liberalization process, will be published.
Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Ahmet Arslan, said in a statement, the railway infrastructure network prepared by TCDD, access conditions, applications, capacity allocation processes and services provided, including the necessary information on the network notification of the notification and approved by the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications said.
Reminding that the law envisaging the liberalization of the railway sector came into force on May 1, 2013, Arslan stated that TCDD was restructured as a railway infrastructure operator with the said law.
Arslan stated that “TCDD Taşımacılık AŞ” was established as a subsidiary of TCDD to carry out freight and passenger transportation by rail, and that private sector railway train management was provided.
Arslan stated that the private railway infrastructure management was promoted and that the first network notification prepared by TCDD as the infrastructure operator on the national railway network in the liberalized rail sector covered the 1 January-10 December 2017 period.
Arslan stated the following about the purpose of the network notification:
“Network notification, the general terms and conditions regarding the use of the railway infrastructure, the issues to be followed and taken into consideration during the capacity allocation process, the railway infrastructure and the services provided, the infrastructure access fees and the TCDD. It aims to provide information on pricing of the services provided. ”
