72 step grind in Gaziemir

72-step torment in Gaziemir: Due to the non-working elevators of the İZBAN line, which divides the Dokuz Eylül district of Izmir's Gaziemir district into two in the east-west direction, the residents of the district have to go up and down the 72-step stairs.
İzmir residents who live in the east of the line said that they had to cross the İZBAN line every day in order to move to the western part of the roads where the school, shopping center, market and city buses and dolmus lines and roads are located.
Stating that they were sentenced to go up and down 72 steps to cross the line, the residents of the neighborhood stated that especially young children, families with babies, pregnant women and the elderly experienced great difficulties. Neighborhood Headman Mustafa Tosun said, “The elevator, which had been broken for a year, was finally repaired. But that day it broke down again. Months have passed, they don't care, ”he said.
