A delegation from Adana TCDD Directorate visited Mayor Ertuğrul Çalışkan in his office. During the meetings held about the Karaman OIZ Logistics Center Project, the delegation informed President Çalışkan about the latest situation of the project.

Stating that the Logistics Center to be established is extremely important for the Karaman industry and economy, Mayor Ertuğrul Çalışkan said, “We are establishing a logistics center in Karaman in order to deliver the products produced in Karaman to national and international markets faster and at a lower cost. The center will be established on an area of ​​700 thousand square meters right next to the OIZ. 400 thousand square meters of this will be the load center. In its 300 thousand square meter section, there will be a security building, transformer-generator building and service building, as well as banks and restaurants. This center will provide a significant cost advantage to our investors and industrialists in raw material supply and marketing. The loads that will be collected by cargo and brought to the Logistics Center will be checked at the entrance of the facility and materials that are not suitable for transportation will be separated in this area. Later, the loads will be packaged according to their specifications, and the cargoes will be shipped with barcodes and the legal customs procedures of which are completed by containers. With the transition to fast freight transportation, these loads will be delivered to ports in a less costly, safer and faster way.

Within the scope of the project, the annual transport / storage operation capacity at the load center is planned to be 200.000 tons / year. After the preparation of the necessary projects for the logistics center and the completion of the works, the works for the construction tender will begin.
