Nemrut crater lake and Nemrut Mountain, which received the Excellence Award from the European Distinguished Destinations (EDEN) Project, became a popular destination for skiers in nature and winter. Due to its location, the ski resort located between Nemrut crater lake and Lake Van offers skiing opportunities with a unique view to those who love skiing. Some families who had the opportunity to enjoy the weekend enjoyed the snow by making a barbecue on the snow.
The ski resort, located at the foot of Mount Nemrut, 13 kilometers from Tatvan, was flooded by ski lovers from Bitlis center and its districts and surrounding provinces. Nemrut Ski Center Manager Faruk Sinoğlu reminded that Nemrut Crater Lake and Nemrut Mountain received the Excellence Award by being selected as the winner within the scope of European Outstanding Destinations Project. Stating that the ski run is located between the lake and Mount Nemrut, Sinoğlu said, “The ski center is open at the weekend. Skiers from the surrounding provinces flock to the ski center. Our track is beautiful, our citizens spend their time skiing here on the weekend. Because the weather is good, some families are skiing and having a picnic. As long as there is snow on our track, we will continue to open it. The facility has a 2 thousand 500 meter chair lift system. This system is capable of carrying one thousand people per hour. We have 4 tracks according to their difficulty levels. The feature that makes our facility different is that we are at the point where blue and white meet. You can watch the hot and cold Nemrut Crater Lake and Van Lake from a bird's eye view. You are skiing against the view of Van Lake. This feature makes us different from other ski resorts.
