3 Revision to Eurasia Tunnel Reconstruction Plan

3rd Revision to the Eurasia Tunnel Development Plan: The 3rd revision of the Eurasia Tunnel was made at the request of the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization.
The Eurasia Tunnel Project, which was built as a sister to Marmaray in Istanbul, turned into a puzzle board. This time the change was made at the request of the Ministry of Environment.
The second revision plan of the part of the Eurasia Tunnel Project in Zeytinburnu and Fatih districts came to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Assembly in May 2015. The revision was submitted to the Istanbul No.4 Regional Board for Conservation of Cultural Heritage for evaluation. While the plan change was still under the evaluation of the board, a new revision was made in the project.
MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT WANTED A VISION
The Ministry of Environment and Urbanization requested parliamentary decision and institutional opinions from IMM for its third revision. The revision of the Eurasia Tunnel Project came to the agenda at the IMM Assembly meeting on February 12. In the plan report prepared by the Ministry, it was stated that expropriation was kept to a minimum on the European side and the project was expanded to the southern areas where there is no private property, so the area was growing.
FLEXIBILITY TO THE EYES
On the Anatolian side, it was noted that the construction approach distance was changed to protect the underground tunnels, and the intersection designs were expanded due to the relocation of the Üsküdar Junction technical equipment buildings, where the toll booths will be located. It was stated that the main elements of the project were adhered to in the planning, and flexibility was brought to the lower or upper crossing intersections, which may change according to the conditions, during the implementation phase.

EXPECTED IN 2017
The construction of the Eurasia Tunnel, which will connect Asia and Europe with an undersea highway tunnel, started in 2014.
It is stated that the cost of the project, which is planned to be completed in 2017, is approximately 1.3 billion dollars. It is planned that the vehicle toll fee from the tunnel, which will reduce the distance between Kazlıçeşme and Göztepe to 15 minutes, will be $ 4, excluding VAT, for cars in one direction. The total length of passage will be 14.6 km and the tunnel section will be 5.4 km.
