Quito, the capital of Ecuador, is getting its first Metro line

Ecuador's Capital Quito Receives First Metro Line: Construction of the first subway line in Quito, the capital of Ecuador, started with a grand groundbreaking ceremony. The groundbreaking ceremony was held on January 19, with the participation of the city's Mayor, Mauricio Rodas.
The line that will connect El Labrador and Quitumbe in the city will be 22 km long and there will even be 15 stations. The 34 min travel time will be minimized and even 400000 passengers will be transported daily.
The total cost of the project will be 2 billion dollars of the cost of the line 63% 37 part of the city's own resources will be covered by the national government.
