Antalya Rail System Line 60 Will Be On Mileage

In Antalya, the Metropolitan Municipality borrowed 18 million Euros for the purchase of 2 vehicles and the pedestrian overpasses to operate on the 18-kilometer 39-stage rail system, which is under construction in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications and Metropolitan Municipality.
Regarding the agenda discussed in the second session of the Metropolitan Municipality's council in January, Menderes Türel, Mayor of Metropolitan Municipality, said that the vehicles that will even run on the EXPO 2016 Antalya fair area in Aksu will be purchased by the Metropolitan Municipality. Stating that the deficiencies such as pedestrian overpasses in the project were also undertaken, Türel said that the line was commissioned in the feasibility studies and that it was capable of paying its own debt.
THIRD STAGE WORK
Noting that the principal payment of the loan used for the Antalya 1st stage rail system line started in 2014, Türel said:
“With line, ticket and other income, he can pay his debt with interest and principal. In the feasibility reports of the 2nd stage rail system line, we see that the said debt can be paid with the revenues when the system is put into operation. The third stage starts from the old Varsak city hall and ends at the bus station on Sakarya Boulevard and at the Training and Research Hospital on Dumlupınar Boulevard. LINE WILL COST 350 MILLION
The Antalya 2nd stage rail system line, which is under construction, is being implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications and the Metropolitan Municipality. The Ministry will take the vehicles to work on the Metropolitan line while undertaking the construction of the line that ends at the EXPO 2016 fair area in Aksu connected to Antalya Airport from Meydan station. The relevant Ministry has tendered the 18-kilometer line to 259 million 498 thousand liras, while the Metropolitan Municipality held the tender for the purchase of 18 vehicles on 25 August. Hyundai Eurotem Railway Vehicles, which has a 2 percent subsidiary of TCDD, won the tender offered by 15 companies. Metropolitan signed a contract with the company on 28 September 2015 for 29 million 428 thousand 470 Euros. In the contract, the start date of the work is specified as 9 October and the end date is 8 February 2017. Accordingly, the company will deliver 6 vehicles in the 2-month period, which will take place until April, when EXPO will begin. By February 2017, all 18 vehicles will be delivered.
