Turgut Özal Stadium becomes a metrobus station: Turgut Özal Stadium in Avcılar, which has been hosting football matches for years, becomes a transfer center for public transportation. The transfer center to be built in place of the stadium will be the transfer point of transportation lines such as metro, bus, metrobus, Marmaray, tram, railway network in Avcılar. The residents want the sports area to be arranged as a park.
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality has started to design project for 24 transfer center which will integrate transportation systems in the city. The Transportation Planning Department is going to bid for 5 and 6 May for the preparation of architectural, transportation and landscaping projects of transfer centers.
TRANSFER CENTER WILL BE
On the European Side Sefaköy, Kirazlı, Yenibosna, İncirli, Mahmutbey, Çobançeşme, Çırpıcı, TÜYAP, Avcılar, Kazlıçeşme, HalkalıTransfer centers have been planned in Başakşehir, Kayaşehir and Bahçeşehir. It turned out that the transfer center in Avcılar will be built instead of the Turgut Özal Stadium, which is currently in use by the Avcılar Municipal Sports Club. The 17 square meter land owned by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality is located in the most central part of the district.
The Stat is also an area where residents can work out in the morning. People living in the area want to organize the park as a park and green area.
1 MILLION METREKARE CONSTRUCTION
600 transfer stations with a total construction area of 14 thousand square meters will be built on the European Side and 400 transfer stations with a total construction area of 10 thousand square meters on the Anatolian side. It is aimed to provide uninterrupted transportation in all directions with the transfer stations planned at the junction points of transportation lines such as metro, bus, metrobus, Marmaray, tramway and railway network.
In the transfer centers, which are planned in a way that the transportation systems feed each other, besides the stops, parking lots - park & ride areas will be located in public services and commercial areas that will serve in the regional area.
FIRST STUDIES STARTED IN 2008
The first transfer center works in Istanbul were carried out in 2008. 60 transfer centers were planned on the European and Anatolian sides, but these centers could not be implemented. At that time, when the plan changes made under the name of the transfer center brought privileged zoning rights, there were discussions about "transfer of rent". Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality has revised those centers and reduced them to 24 now and took action to revive them.
