WHO IS MEHMET HAMDI YILDIRIM?

He was born in Konya in 1965. In 1990, he graduated from the Middle East Technical University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Political Science and Public Administration. In 1993, Selçuk University, Institute of Social Sciences, Privatization Department of Public Administration; He completed the Master's Program on Methods and the Case of Turkey. In the same year, Ankara University Faculty of Political Sciences (SBF) Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Public Administration and Political Science started the Doctorate Program in Management Sciences. He made a thesis on Public Services and Privatization Problem in Terms of Narrowing the Scope of Public Administration and a Research on the Effects of Organizational Renewal Factors, Environmental Situations and Structural Factors on Organizational Innovation.

He began his career in Turkey General Directorate of Sugar Factories. National Productivity Center (MPM) TÜRK ŞEKER A.Ş. He served as a member of the reorganization project and as a member of the group.

He worked as a research assistant at Yüzüncü Yıl University, Ankara University, Faculty of Political Sciences and Kırıkkale University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences.

Between 1996 and 2003, he served as the Head Consultant of the Ministry of State Responsible for Mining, ETİ HOLDİNG (Mining) Board Member and Deputy General Manager. In this period, Mining Sector Restructuring Projects, Establishment of the Ministry of Mining, Restructuring of ETİ HOLDİNG and MTA, Seydişehir Aluminum plant capacity increase and renewal project, TRONA and BOR, Realization works of the mines investments, Zonguldak Basin Development Project, TTK Rehabilitation Project, Preparation of New Mining Law and Geothermal Law, East and Southeast Mining Project etc. carried out his work.

He served as deputy counselor in TBMM. He served as General Coordinator, Chairman of Board of Directors, Head of Institutionalization and Restructuring in various private companies.

2003-2008 was appointed as the Minister of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, Eti Mine Works Eti Zeolit ​​Kimya Sanayi A.Ş. Deputy General Manager, ÇAYELİ BAKIR İŞLETMELERİ A.Ş. And served as a Member of the Board of Directors of ETİMINE SA (Luxembourg).

He was the General Manager Consultant of Eti Mine Operations, the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF), and the Board of Directors of Toprak Holding, Toprak İnşaat AŞ.

On March 26 2008 was appointed as General Manager of Mining Affairs.

Mehmet Hamdi Yıldırım is married with three children and speaks English and Russian.

  1. There is no person in the TCDD who will be a deputy director or a member of the Board of Directors. So, the appointed general manager, his assistants, members of the board and some of the heads of departments are always coming from the outside. .. this practice weakens the organization, lowers the productivity, kills the employee, the institution loses credibility.
