The Board of Monuments Approves the Izmit Tram Line: The Board of Monuments gave approval for the sections of the tram line to be built in Izmit that pass in front of the historical monuments.
It was applied to the Directorate of Regional Board of Protection of the Cultural Heritage of Kocaeli on whether the tram will be damaged or not. A positive opinion was made in the application made by the Metropolitan Municipality to the Board of Monuments about the buildings that have the status of historical artifacts such as the old train station, Fevziye Mosque and Yeni Cuma Mosque on the tram route. It was unanimous that the tram line will not harm historical monuments after the examination made by the Board.
