Ovit Tunnel Statement from Selehattin Bayramçavuş

Selehattin Bayramçavuş, 10th Regional Director of Highways, made statements about the situation of the Ovit Tunnel, which is the longest tunnel in the world. Ovit Tunnel, which is the second longest tunnel project in the world and is planned to connect Rize to Eastern Anatolia, is planned to be put into service in the first quarter of 2.

The construction of Ovit Tunnel, the second longest tunnel project in the world with a length of 2 km, drilled at the 54 thousand 2 code in the village of Sivrikaya in the İkizdere District of Rize between Rize and Erzurum and drilled at the code of 236 thousand 12.6 by Erzurum, continues rapidly. The 2th Regional Director of Highways, Selehattin Bayramçavuş, stated that a total of 10 kilometers of the tunnel was drilled by Rize in a double tube, and that the drilling work continued on the remaining 7 thousand 5 meters, saying, “The completion period was planned as 500 days. The tunnel was aimed to be put into service at the end of 300. However, there was a waste of time due to developments outside the plan. We aim to see the light in the tunnel at the end of 2015. It will be completed and ready for service in the first quarter of 2015 ”.

The Ovit Tunnel will be 12.6 km in total along with the avalanche tunnels to be built in the tunnel entrance and exit section of the 14.3 km long double tube. The total length of the tunnel as double tube will be 28.6 km in total. The tender price of the project is 413 million TL.
