FSM bridge warning from the Governorship to the Istanbulites: The Governorship of Istanbul warned the drivers for the "cat roads" to be built on the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge.
Within the scope of the Great Repair and Structural Reinforcement of the Bosphorus and Fatih Sultan Mehmet (FSM) Bridges, "catwalks" will be manufactured on the FSM Bridge. The studies will be held in the right lane in Asia-Europe direction on 17 October-15 December, in the right lane in the direction of Europe-Asia on 16 December-30 January, and other lanes will be open to vehicle traffic.
In a written statement made by the Governorship of Istanbul, it was stated that cat roads will be built on the FSM Bridge within the scope of the "Great Repair and Structural Reinforcement of the Bosphorus and FSM Bridges", which is controlled by the General Directorate of Highways, the XNUMXst Regional Directorate and is under construction by the contractor firm.
It was noted that the works will be carried out on the FSM Bridge in the right lane in Asia-Europe direction between 17 October and 15 December, and Europe-Asia in the right lane between 16 December and 30 January, and the other lanes will be open to vehicle traffic.
In the explanations, the following statements were made:
“It is foreseen that the right lanes in both directions, in the direction of Asia-Europe North and in the direction of Europe-Asia South, will be closed to traffic between 22.00-06.00 in the specified date intervals. Studies will be organized to ensure traffic flow according to the exam hours, taking into account the exam days. In addition, during the above-mentioned works on the FSM Bridge, it is planned to close the right lane in one direction for 10.00-16.00 hours for material shipment between 1-2 when the daytime traffic is not heavy. During these works, all necessary safety measures will be taken and traffic signs will be made. "
