The First Step for Balıkesir Light Rail System Project: The first step was taken for the light rail system planned to be installed in Balıkesir city center and in the bay area.
Mayor Ahmet Edip Uğur met with the authorities of a private rail system to implement the light rail system project.
Having made a statement to the journalists after the meeting, Uğur stated that the transportation in Balıkesir will ease and become more modern with the project.
Under the project, Uğur stated that two light rail systems will be established in the center and in the gulf area. We also received information from the company officials about exemplary projects they had previously done. "We have received the answers of how to make the light rail system in the most appropriate way to Balıkesir."
