Domestic steel period begins in automobile tires

The domestic steel period begins in automobile tires: Karabük Iron and Steel Factories (KARDEMİR) will produce imported steel tire steel in the steel and coil mill, which has started to be produced.
KARDEMİR general manager Fadil Demirel said that Turkey's industrialization and development in parallel, said they wanted to produce needed goods can not do to anyone but themselves.
In this context, explaining that they rolled up their sleeves to build the mill not in Turkey, Demirel said:
“The rolling mill we started to build is the best in the world. There is no second in our country. 700 thousand tons capacity. Here, low and high carbon, high alloy, bearing, automaton, spring, welding, automotive, coil and quality rod steels will be produced. We are working with TÜBİTAK. We have always imported the steel wires used in automobile tires. We will save our country from foreign dependency. Our facility is suitable for the production and casting of these rubber steels. Internal cleaning of the steel is very important.
Nobody other than us can make this steel in our country. ”
Rolling mill will end next year
Demirel stated that the rolling mill construction is continuing and that the assembly works are continuing.
Demirel noted that some parts of the construction will work in partnership with the German company.
“The steel and coil rolling mill is planned to be completed in 2015. Once completed, we will be able to produce the steel used primarily in automobile tires. We want to do different things now. We will achieve this in this field, just as we have saved our country from foreign dependency to a great extent in rail production. We can use our Ray profile rolling mill at full capacity. With the new rolling mill, we will shift our production to these quality steels. Therefore, these products with much higher added value will make us different. ”
