2014 will be a year of development for railways

2014 will be a year of development for the railroads: In our country, rail systems, large projects submitted to the service and 2023 target with his wife in the first years of the Republic continues to move with a mobility. TCDD, which is the locomotive of this journey, works with all its power to bring the sector to the desired level with its high speed train projects, Marmaray and finally National Train. In an exclusive interview with General Director of TCDD Süleyman Karaman, Karaman talked about the achievements of the past year and yıl 2014 billion TL appropriation was granted to the railways for the year 4. 2014 will be a year of significant developments in terms of railway transportation. X
Turkey in recent years, the metro railway line with the policy followed by the transportation and transport, high-speed trains from the tunnel to the rail stood at every stage of a major attack. State Railways of the Republic of Turkey continues to work with the network as a leading institution of efforts to reach every point of the country. Following 2013 which is very intense and successful in terms of rail systems, it is expected that this year will be the scene of big projects with new projects and new projects in 2014. General Director of TCDD Süleyman Karaman first mentioned the history of rail systems in our country and gave information about important projects that have been realized one after another in recent years. Standing on the importance of Marmaray and high-speed train projects, Karaman said that not only passenger transportation, but also important steps were taken in the area of freight transport. Karaman said that the leaps in the field of railroad systems will continue to increase in the coming years and that they are happy to reach the one hundred percent domestic targets they had dreamed of for many years with the National Train project.
We left behind the 2013 year, where many innovations in the field of rail systems in the world and in our country have passed. Could you make a short assessment of the historical process of Turkish railways before going on the 2013 evaluation?
The history of the railway in the Anatolian lands begins with the construction of the Izmir-Aydin Line in 1856. The 4.136 kilometers of these lines, built with the privilege given to German, French and British companies, remained within the borders of the National Pact.
Di Railways are more important safety weapons of a country than a country's rifle. Ini emphasizing the importance of railways in war and peace Great Leader Atatürk, despite the scarce resources in the early years of the Republic, launched the mobilization of railroads, nationalized the lines in the hands of foreigners. During the golden age of the railway, approximately 1923 thousand kilometers of railroads were built between 1938-80 and 3 in our eastern region with harsh geographic conditions.
These investments slowed down due to the Second World War. As of 1950, parallel to international policies, road-weighted transportation policies were followed, and the railway statement was left to its fate. As a natural consequence of this neglect, the share of passengers and cargo has declined and they have not even maintained their current system.
50 year is about a year for the 2003-ignored railway. From this year on, railways became a state policy again. 2003-2013 2013 prices and 40 billion resources were transferred to the rail sector. As the public closely follows; Dozens of projects were implemented in line with the objectives of high-speed train projects, modernization of the current situation, development of the forward railway industry and restructuring for an efficient and efficient railway.
As you have stated, especially in the 2009, high-speed train projects with high speed train transportation started to attract the attention of the public. In 2011 you opened the Ankara-Konya line. Which developments took place in 2013 within the scope of high-speed train projects?
Following the Ankara-Eskişehir and Ankara-Konya lines, we launched the high-speed train transportation between Konya and Eskişehir in the 2013 and brought together the friends of Mevlana and Yunus Emre. We formed our first YHT ring at a distance of approximately one thousand kilometers in the triangle of Ankara-Konya-Eskişehir. 24 On March 2013, the Konya-Eskişehir-Konya track, which started high-speed train operations, is carried out four times a day. The average number of passengers per day is 500 on weekdays and 700 on weekends. The share of buses with 70 was down to 32 after YHT, and the share of YHT was 55 and the demand increased by 25. In addition, combined transportation between YHT and Bus is carried out between Konya and Bursa.
23 157 was established in September last year. We have also laid the foundation of Ankara-Izmir line within the scope of the anniversary events. When this line is completed, a person who gets a high speed train from Ankara will be in 1,5 hours in Afyon, 2 hours later in Izmir. After Eskişehir and Konya, Afyon will become the suburb of Ankara. Afyonlular, Uşaklılar day trip to Izmir on the promenade, enjoy eating fresh fish. Time has become much more valuable in our time. With the fast, safe and comfortable trains, long journeys are going on.
How are the works on other high-speed train lines under construction?
In Ankara-Sivas, Ankara-Bursa and Ankara-Izmir high-speed train lines are continuing. When all of these lines are opened, 15, which has half of the country's population, will be met by high speed train.
Of course, only the high-speed train in the 2013 has not developed. Could you inform us about other projects that have been implemented?
Yes, the year of 2013 was not just about high-speed trains. We had a year in which we were experiencing dazzling developments in railway transportation. In 2013, the deposit is 4 billion 700 million TL. Investments in railways as a priority sector have been realized in a short time and with less cost compared to their counterparts in the world.
Railway Liberalization Law, Marmaray's commissioning, steps related to national trains, ball train, İZBAN Project and other investments took place in 2013.
Liberalization of Railway Transport of Turkey About Draft Law, was enacted by the Parliament in May 01 2013. With this law, TCDD got its own law for the first time. TCDD infrastructure services, will be established Türk Tren A.Ş. will run the train operation. The other important aspect of the law is the fact that railway transportation becomes free as its name suggests.
In other words, according to this law, domestic and foreign companies, who bought their locomotive and wagon, can now operate freight and passenger trains. The said law also ensured compliance with the EU in railway transportation. 29 Our annual dream of 153 became a reality in the October Republic Day. Marmaray was opened to service. Asia and Europe were united by rail under the sea. And the only switch between continents was the 4 minutes. Gebze-Haydarpaşa and Sirkeci- within the scope of the Marmaray Project, which is important not only for our country but also for the world.Halkalı 700 million passengers will be transported annually when the upgrading of suburban lines is completed. In addition, high-speed trains and freight trains from certain hours will pass through here in the future.
In 2013, significant progress was made in freight transportation. Since the 2004 year we have started to increase the amount of cargo carried by the block train transportation. In this context we carried 2004 million cargo in 18,6 while carrying 2013 million tons in 26. (2014 year is 28 million tons)
Another important development in freight transportation was the BALO Train. In cooperation with TOBB, we launched the BALO (Greater Anatolia Logistics Organization) Project. With the project, we aimed to transport the tigers of Anatolian tigers mainly to the inner parts of Germany, Munich and Cologne. Within this scope, the 5 pieces BALO Block trains, which we sent from Manisa, reached Germany in a short time such as 5 days. These trains will increase in the coming period. In addition, the Viking Train Project will be launched shortly after the Baltic Sea and the Black Sea to connect the sea ports of Klaipeda, Odessa and Ilichevsky with the railway. We signed the memorandum of understanding.
Another major project is the National Train. What steps were taken in this project?
The National Train Project, which we have been working on for a long time, was introduced to the public with a ceremony attended by our former Minister, Mr. Binali Yıldırım. The National Train Project for the production of the new generation of railway vehicles in our country with original design and domestic technology has been started and in this context, National Train Working Group has been formed.
It was aimed to produce the vehicles to be produced within the scope of the National Train Project with a minimum percentage of 51 and to increase this rate to 85 level as a result of localization studies. Within the scope of the National Train Project, high speed trains TÜLOMSAŞ, electric and diesel train sets will be produced by TÜVASAŞ and freight wagons will be produced by TÜDEMSAŞ.
We have another National Signaling Project. In cooperation with TÜBİTAK, we implemented the National Signaling Project at Sakarya / Mithatpaşa Station and achieved successful results. Now, we have started to spread this to the whole of the network by implementing it between Afyon-Denizli, Isparta-Burdur and Ortaklar-Denizli stations. Hence, our foreign currency paid by the National Trains and the National Signaling system will remain in the state's vault.
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality cooperation in realized and 2011 service given 80 kilometre'lik Cumaovası-Aliaga between the rail system in the metro standards from rail and air space inside of the longest cities of Turkey İZBAN We have received international awards. IZBAN, UM Best Collaboration fazla in the World Congress on olduğ Growth in Public Transport dünyadaki organized by the World Congress of the International Association of Public Transporters (UITP), which is the largest organization of the mass transportation sector in the world was awarded first place in the category. The 3 project in 400 category and 40 project in our country participated in the competition organized by UITP this year. In order to provide a fast, comfortable and safe rail public transportation system for citizens, İZBAN emerged as a product of the cooperation between central government and local government and as a result, UITP member 6 was shown as a model project for the country.
In 2013 also; Supply and installation of APU devices (165 units from TÜLOMSAŞ), Tekirdağ-Muratlı 2. line construction 30 kilometer, Cumaovasi-Tepekoy 2. line construction 30 kilometers, Başpınar Logistics Center arrangement, 12 pieces emergency response and rescue vehicle, 5 logistics center, Samsun (Gelemen), Uşak, Denizli (Kaklik), Izmit (Kosekoy) and Halkalı has been opened to operation. 876 mileage was renewed. As part of the production and modernization of the towed vehicles, the production of 710 freight cars was realized.
What are your goals in 2013 after the very busy 2014 year?
2014 billion TL allowance was granted to the railways for 4 year. 2014 will be a year of significant developments in terms of railway transportation. The first of these is the completion of the Eskişehir-İstanbul High Speed Train and the fact that we have longed for years to connect with Ankara between Istanbul and High Speed Train. When the Eskişehir-İstanbul stage of the Ankara-İstanbul High Speed Line Project is completed, it is planned to carry out annual 3 million and 2023 million passenger transportation annually at 17 targets. In addition to this, high speed, fast and conventional railway projects will attract and attract vehicle projects to become one of the most dynamic sectors of our country.
Modernization of existing roads, vehicle fleet, stations and stations, connection of railway network to production centers and ports, development of advanced railway industry with private sector, establishment of logistic centers and making it an important logistics base in our region will be among the investments to be continued.
