The agreement between the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and the Punjab Government has brought a new breath to the traffic of the city of Lahore, which has a million million.

Speaking at the opening ceremony with the enthusiastic participation of thousands of people, the Prime Minister of Punjab Province with a population of 80 million, Şahbaz Şerif said, "I thank Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Mr. President Kadir Topbaş for their endless support to us. Emphasizing that the troubles of the citizens of waiting for the bus for hours have come to an end, Şerif said, “Our poor people had to look after the rich people passing by with air-conditioned vehicles. Now, our poor people will be able to travel quickly and safely in air-conditioned metrobuses from now on ”.

The Lahore Metrobus Line, which will carry 120 thousand passengers a day, stretches for 12 km on the busiest street of the 27 million city. 300 km of the project, which cost 9 million dollars in total, consists of an elevated road. The line was completed in 10 months and a historical record was set. In Lahore, where three-wheeled rickshaw and Chinese vehicles cause intense air pollution, the BRT will be free for the first month. In the metrobus where the e-ticket will be valid, the ticket price is estimated to be in the range of 10-20 Rupees (18-35 kurus), although it has not been announced yet.

The metrobus system, which was brought to Lahore by technical and project consultancy of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Inc., reduced the distance from 2 hours to 50 minutes.
