The signatures of the transfer in metropolitan metros will be thrown this year!

Following the arrangement for transferring metro investments to the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, Ankara, Istanbul, Izmir and Adana metropolitan municipalities applied to the ministry.

The length of the metro lines that the four municipalities want to be completed reaches the 165 kilometer.

Transfer signatures of Istanbul, Adana and Izmir are expected to be signed in 2012. There are Bakırköy-Beylikdüzü Line and İDO-İncirli-Kirazlı Line, which are foreseen in Istanbul, Üçyol-Üçkuyular Metro and Bornova-EVKA-3 metro line, which are unfinished in İzmir. In order to solve the urban traffic and transportation problem of Adana, the metro needs to be completed as soon as possible.

Adana Metro will be transferred to the Ministry of Transport, and the part up to the university will be completed as soon as possible. However, there is no clear date for the transfer of the Adana metro. After completing the construction of the subways, the Ministry will transfer them to the relevant metropolitan municipalities for their operations. However, municipalities will transfer 15 percent of their income to the Treasury.

Cost in Ankara 3 billion

In Ankara, where 44 lines of 3 kilometers are located, metro transfer agreements were signed in June 2011. The Ministry will commission the Ankara Batıkent-Sincan line in 2014. Transfer signatures of Istanbul and Izmir are also expected to be signed in 2012. Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, pre-qualification proposals were received in June in the tender for the completion of the capital metro constructions. Financial proposals of 12 bidders whose prequalification is approved will be received in the coming days. 15 thousand 360 km long Kızılay-Çayyolu, 16 km long Batıkent-Sincan, 590 thousand 9 km long Tandogan-Keçiören line will be completed in the first quarter of 220. The lines will start to serve within 2014 years from the place of delivery in Ankara Metro, which has 3 different routes.

Batıkent-Sincan line will be commissioned first among the routes with different physical progresses. A total of 3 million 564 thousand passengers will be transported per day in all subways. Meanwhile, with the updated prices of Ankara metros will cost 3 billion 40 million liras cost.

A senior official from the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications stated that the shortage of these subways led to a major traffic congestion in urban transport, adding that this congestion caused a loss of time and money and increased emissions. He said that the total cost of the 3 billion 40 million 290 thousand TL project, deemed necessary for Ankara, was approved by the Ministry of Development.
