A delegation was created in Samsun to accelerate the work of the High Speed Train Project, which was constantly brought up by the AK Party and planned to be completed by 2023. The delegation of AK Party Samsun Deputy Cemal Yılmaz Demir, STSO President Salih Zeki Murzioğlu, Commodity Exchange President Sinan Çakır and AK Party Provincial President Osman Çetinkaya will meet with Minister of Transport Binali Yıldırım on Thursday (January 26th).
Making a statement about the program, MP Cemal Yılmaz Demir said, “We are in an effort to bring Samsun the high-speed train as soon as possible. We want to build not only high-speed trains, but also railways and freight transport. We made an appointment with the Minister of Transport, Binali Yıldırım, on the subject. We will go with the delegation we created and lay the subject on the table. This initiative will connect the Black Sea to Ankara and the Mediterranean. With the establishment of freight trains, there will be mobility between Samsun Port and İskenderun Port. We will do our best as a ruling party so that Samsun can benefit from these transportation opportunities. ”
Noting that the railway line between Samsun and Ankara is long and troubled, Cemal Yılmaz Demir said, “When it was established at the time, a long line was drawn. This line travels 1070 kilometers and reaches its destination. We have a railway demand that will reduce Samsun to 400 kilometers over Çorum. We want this to be a high-speed train. Although this project will be implemented until 2023, we will demand that this period be taken earlier. We want the people of Samsun to have such an investment as soon as possible. ”
Stating that STSO President Salih Zeki Murzioğlu will not be able to attend the appointment personally because of his surgery, he said, “We want a team of managers from our chamber to be there. Our deputy led by appointment, leading us to join it would be a betrayal of Samsun. We care about this project as STSO. We fully support this railway and highway initiative, which we believe will contribute to both Samsun and the local people. Samsun will gain another prestige with the construction of this place. ”A delegation from Çorum is expected to take part in the visit.
