Big prize for ESHOT, which puts green buses into service

International Public Transport Union's "Environment and Sustainable Development Award", Turkey's first electric bus fleet in establishing the public transport and the electricity to be used in vehicles that were given ESHOT to continue their work to produce on their farm. This "honor award" of Izmir transportation was presented at the "World Mass Transporters Summit and Fair" in Canada.

The "Electric Bus and Solar Power Plant Integrated Project" implemented by the ESHOT General Directorate was awarded with the "Environment and Sustainable Development Award" given by UITP for being the first in the world in this field.

In Canada, "World Public Transport Summit and Exhibition" ESHOT Vice President at a ceremony held at the Fazil Meter, this important award, Turkey's ambassador to Canada, Selcuk Unal and UITP secretary-general Alain Flaush the hand.

80 saves money
The electric buses of Izmir, which are produced according to the geographical and climatic conditions of the city, after long studies and researches, are 250 km per day. it can travel, it does not use any energy source other than electricity. Electric buses that reduce carbon emissions to zero save more than 80 percent compared to diesel buses and offer a quiet and comfortable journey.

In addition, the feasibility report prepared by the General Directorate of ESHOT for the purchase of 400 electric buses was approved by the Ministry of Development and included in the investment budget.
